Sharon's Horror
"Hi, I see there is only the one horror story on your site at the moment so here is another one, not quite as serious though. I didn't break any bones, just got lots of bruises and swellings.
I'd had the scooter (PX200 disc) from new about 10 months, and I was riding home from grocery shopping. Going through an intersection, a car decided suddenly to pull across in front of me when I was only a few metres away. CCCcrunch!! At least I scared him as my face hit his windscreen. There was poor little scootie, on the ground in the middle of the intersection. The driver had the honesty to admit fault to the police. Despite the damaged legshield toolbox, only one of the dozen eggs I was carrying in it broke. Luckily the X-rays showed I hadn't broken anything myself, although I had crutches for a little while. "Scootie" was a different matter, they got parts and fixed some of the panel damage, and then realised that the frame was bent. The insurance company has now decided to write it off as it would be expensive to repair, not much less than the cost of it new. On a positive note, I should be getting the new PX next week; hope it "lives" a bit longer than its predecessor.
